At Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, our Acute Care team provides personalized inpatient care backed by experienced physicians, skilled nurses and the resources of a regional medical center.
CRMC serves patients from throughout Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma, providing hospital care for a wide range of illnesses, injuries, medical conditions and surgical procedures. Our Acute Care team works closely with physicians and other clinical departments throughout CRMC to develop and carry out an individualized plan of care for each patient. Depending on your needs, that team may include nursing, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, pharmacy, nutrition services, laboratory, medical imaging and other healthcare professionals.
Throughout your stay, we focus not only on treating your medical condition, but also on your comfort, safety, recovery and preparation for what comes next.
Around-the-Clock Nursing Care
Our Acute Care Unit provides 24-hour nursing care for patients who need continued monitoring, treatment or recovery in the hospital.
Patients may be admitted for many reasons, including:
- Recovery following surgery or a medical procedure
- Treatment of an acute illness or infection
- Management of an existing medical condition
- IV medications and therapies
- Continued monitoring following an emergency
- Respiratory conditions
- Pain management
- Other conditions requiring inpatient hospital care
Our nurses monitor each patient’s condition, administer medications and treatments, communicate with physicians and other members of the care team, and help patients and families understand what to expect throughout their hospital stay.
Your Safety Is Our Priority
Patient safety is incorporated into every aspect of care at CRMC. Our Acute Care team uses established safety practices and technology to support patients throughout their hospitalization.

- 24-hour care by trained nursing professionals
- Regular nursing rounds
- Daily physician evaluation
- Bedside medication verification
- Fall-prevention and patient-monitoring measures
- Coordinated discharge planning and instructions
Preparing You for What Comes Next
Good hospital care doesn’t end when you’re medically ready to leave acute care. Our team begins planning for your next steps early in your hospital stay, working with you and your family to help ensure a safe and successful transition.
For many patients, that means returning home with a clear understanding of medications, follow-up appointments, activity recommendations and other instructions for continued recovery.
For others, a little more time and support may be needed before going home. CRMC’s Swing Bed Program provides an important bridge between an acute hospital stay and returning home, offering continued skilled nursing care and rehabilitation for patients who qualify.
